Yes, his first name was Anton. My dad just nicked this photo to use in his lecture "Failed Doctors", which is about doctors who are famous for being something else. Chekov is aparently the exception, because he worked as a doctor his entire life aswell as writing all the literature. He caught TB from working with the infected. -e
Oh yeah, I forgot this earlier, but it may interest you to know that one of the young Tsarist military engineers surveying the works around Sevastopol in 1855 was one Leo Tolstoy. Or maybe I told you that already. -e
